Taylorisms

One thing Taylor and I love to do is pretend to eat the food in books.

Taylor -"Mmm, bananas. Want some?"
Mom -"Yep. Mmmm, thanks."

Today it went like this:

M-"Mmmm, strawberries. I want one. Yum. Do you want one?"
T-"Mom, don't eat those, it's just a picture."

Adrian has been suffering lately with a herniated disk. Taylor has caught on and now complains about his back.

"Taylor, time for prayers. Let's kneel down by your bed."

As he jumps into bed and lays down as fast as he can, he says very matter-of-factly, "I can't. My back hurts."

When we put Taylor to bed at night he always puts up a fight, so we have started locking him in his room until he falls asleep. Here are some of the things we hear from the other side of the door (all said in a very sad, scared voice):

"There's a big scary snake on me!"

"The big hungry catterpillar wants to eat me!"

"I need to go potty on the toilet" - he NEVER wants to do this during the day, still in diapers.

"I need to wash my blanket" - as he tries to shove it under the door.
