Queenstown

Our original plan was to go to Christchurch for a day or two and then travel around to nearby cities. Because we arrived in Christchurch two days after the earthquake, we had to change our plans. All of the hotels anywhere near Christchurch were sold out and so we set off to Queenstown, about six hours away. It was completely worth the drive! It is a gorgeous city, as is everything between Christchurch and Queenstown. This is how I pictured New Zealand. Green, sheep-dotted hills with mountains behind. It reminded us of Jackson Hole, but a little more spectacular.

This was our view from the top of the gondola.

Taylor loved doing the luge. There are a lot of extreme sports here, but none that we could do with Taylor. This was something a little less extreme that we could enjoy with him.Again, the view.
Taylor was most interested in the video games when we got to the top of the mountain.

Having an iPad makes traveling so much easier! Taylor could watch Tom and Jerry for hours if we would let him.

It was fun to relax in Queentown before we headed out to Te Anau gloworm caves and Milford Sound.
