Sleepover Blues

When I was growing up I was rarely allowed to have sleepovers. My mom didn't like the consequence that followed...

The Sleepover Blues.

You know, the ornery, tired, hard to be around kind of blues. And all the result of a sleepover.

This weekend I was finally able to see things from my mom's perspective when these two guys went camping.

Can you say grumpy? Hard to handle? Sensitive? I get it now, mom.

An example? I was making cheesecake and Taylor was licking the beater from the mixer. He decided it was a good idea to try and hold it in his mouth without hands. It splattered all over the floor and cheescake batter went everywhere.

I said, "Taylor, why did you do that?"

"It wasn't me."

"I just saw you. It was you."

"No, it wasn't (sob, sob, sob) it was my body." He then continued to sob and ask for his dad because mom hurt his feelings.

Luckily he's back to being himself today (2 days later).
