If you don't know what the Cookbook giveaway is, see what I posted two posts ago.
If you're getting tired of the same old salad with ranch or italian dressing, you are going to love this Salad Dressing.
Pear and Walnut Salad Dressing
2 C Sugar
2 tsp. Salt
3 T. dried onion flakes
2 tsp. Dry mustard
1 C. Red wine vinegar
2 C. salad oil (I use regular vegetable oil)
2 T. poppy seeds (it still tastes good without them!)
Mix dressing ingredients together in blender, except salad oil and poppy seeds.
Slowly add oil a little at a time. Stir in poppy seeds.
Pour dressing over salad just before serving.
I usually use Romaine lettuce and then add pears or apples, dried cranberries, strawberries, pomegrantes, or whatever fruit I have lying around. You can add sugared walnuts or almonds as well.
This recipe makes a lot of dressing! I usually half it and still have a lot left over. I served it yesterday on our salad that went with our Sloppy Joe dinner.
